LASIK

LASIK = Laser In-Situ Keratomileusis

Here's the gyst of my situation:
1. I've gotten a Left Eye bacterial infection,
2. I can't wear contact lenses for 4-6months,
3. Chances of re-acquiring a similar infection is high,
4. I can't live without perfect (no spectacles) vision,
5. Lasik costs $1600 per eye, excluding consultation,
6. Lasik = Outpatient day surgery,
7. Waiting list for Lasik = approximately 1 week,
8. Full recovery after Lasik = 1 month!
9. I'm broke and will have to sell my backside for Lasik.

Should i or should i not Lasik?

Just to share with you this bit of information:

A friend had undergone LASIK earlier this year. She had to don sunglasses to avoid direct sunlight & awaited 3 months to full recovery.

She was also told that the complete eradication of myopia wasn't guaranteed. It is possible to remain short-sighted even with LASIK, albeit to a limited extent.

If Dank goes for it, Mich hopes that it'd be a total success! =)

Adipos thinks that Daniel shud shelf Lasik for a bit. Wait till eye problem totally recovered.

Wearing specs for few months ain't exactly a horrible thing.

Then only after totally recovered from eye problems, go for Lasik. Daisy had hers successfully after the Renu contact lense solution infection scare broke out.

As for selling backside, plenty of competition at Little India. $50 bucks only.

Thanx for the advice... Lasik's a no-go for me anyway, till much later, 'cos of company policy involving taking risks with cosmetic eye-surgery.

Oh well...

Brings back memories of my eye infection last Dec. Caused by my lenses too. Was instructed to stay off lenses for a minimum of 2 mths. I played a month plus of floorball matches with my glasses, for the first time in 5 years. Was quite a daunting experience initially, given my no-holds-barred style of play, not to mention having to ensure no perspiration got into my eyes and hampered the recovery. Eyes no joke man. Take care. Losing the lenses for a few mths is better than losing ur sight. Wish u a speedy recovery.
