Three Weeks

It's been three weeks away from Singapore, another three weeks remaining. It's been enjoyable, eye-opening and a great learning experience.

The happenings over the past few days:
Night out for drinks after dinner at the Fox'n'Fiddle

Day tour to the Litchfield National Park
Company function with our Australian counterparts
Late night out to Discovery, the Zouk of Darwin

Overseas

Dank's in the midst (2 weeks down, 4 to go) of his 6-week overseas working trip to Surabaya, Darwin and Bali... he's not got much time to write a long entry due to limited online time in the Internet Cafe (reading/replying of e-mails, uploading photos, etc).

The Day Before...

It is the day before Dank leaves Singapore for a 6-week trip.

You happy he's away?

Dank's currently paying exorbitant internet charges in an Outdoor Wireless Surf zone at Cineleisure BurgerKing 'cos the Internet at his new place isn't up yet. $0.20 per log in and $0.20/min of wireless use.

Dank will be bringing his laptop and a camera along for the trip, and hopefully he'll be able to get himself to a cybercafe to update.

Internet Cold Turkey

I can't live without the Internet... can you?

I've moved half my stuff into the new room tonight, will complete the other half on Saturday morning. The frustrating thing is that there's no Internet connection at the new place yet! Internet will be available in a few days but by the time it is up and running i would already be on my overseas trip.

Internet Cold Turkey from tomorrow till i return (in 6 weeks)!!!

New Number

Dank has subscribed to a new mobile service provider because the previous one didn't give him adequate mobile phone coverage in his place of work and the roaming options weren't as flexible as the new one.

Send him a message via MSN or SMS (his old number is ported and still works) if you would like his new number.

Dank should mention that it's 2 days to moving...

The USS RmD leaves Singapore tomorrow morning to continue their deployment around the region. I wish them all the best...

I am leaving the hostel i have called home for the past 30months, moving to a small room in town. D-day is Saturday...

I too am leaving Singapore, the coming Wednesday, for 6 weeks, to three lands i have previously not explored. More than a month away; i am going to miss the Internet, and (all of) you...

CrazyElephant and RmD Pilots

We couldn't resist the good music at the CrazyElephant,
we went back there for more! But before that, dinner...

A quick 3min dinner at Burger King, then off to Hooters to meet the RmD SeaHawk pilots. Had 6 leftover fried chicken wings and 3 celery sticks, then off to CrazyElephant we went..

After waiting an hour for the band to begin, we occupy ourselves by taking photos...


...and having 3 jugs of Heineken and a glass of Whisky...

then when the band started to strut their stuff, we began tapping our feet to music that moved the body; GREAT music.
Then there's Alicia...


It was a another great night with the Officers of the USS RmD. It's just too bad they're leaving on Thursday.

I should mention that they will be missed...

I should mention i will move out of the hostel and into the rented room this Saturday...

Swissotel, CrazyElephant

After finishing up babysitting the office at 0830H on Sunday...

Lunch at the RmD with the boss and some of the officers, viewing of photos from Brian and Gordo's previous night's escapades, then off to town...

Swissotel security checks, swimming pool on the 8th floor, beautiful people on the deck chairs and in the pool, drinks and a chit-chat with two RmD pilots at the bar...

9 pints of Brewerkz' beer and a Shepherd's Pie during HailAndFarewell with the RmD wardroom, then to CrazyElephant for jam-night and another 5 pints of Heineken. A semi-resident band member, Alicia is as pretty as a young Australian lady can be, and oh-so-talented. She's studying music in Australia, plays the flute, the keytar (guitar/keyboard hybrid), the saxophone, and did i mention she's pretty? Alicia's pretty beautiful...

I should mention that i totally enjoyed the company of the RmD wardroom...

Saturday... work.

Last-minute activation to look after the office today;
Saturday's plans cancelled.
