Instant Messaging (IM)

Online IM started a few years before the Internet became popular:
DARPA for work-related exchanges (1980s),
Teleview (early 1990s),
IRC (mid 1990s),
ICQ (late 1990s),
MSN/Yahoo/AOL/etc...

If you haven't heard, gMail has a new instant messaging function as well! It's quite a breeze to use albeit a tad simple (no graphics, no attachments) but it's reliable and fast.

I'm particularly impressed because i can now chat during my breakfast/lunch/dinner breaks! Currently at work the installed version of MSN Messenger is blocked (ie: can only log in using WEB Messenger which is slow and unstable), but gMail Chat is not blocked so i can now check my mails and chat (during my breaks)!

So what are you waiting for? Log in to gMail and chat with me!
Thick skinned eh? =P

United Arab Emirates

To be specific: Dubai.
Everywhere you turn there's mini city being built, towering buildings being erected by tall and thin cranes... the construction works in Singapore pales in comparison with the many building projects ongoing in Dubai. There's also the Burj Al Arab, a 7-star hotel along the coast of Dubai overlooking the Arabian Gulf.

Then there's expensive food and drinks...

...and then there's good company!

Not forgetting an exciting SUV ride in the desert

Bahrain

Bahrain is in the Middle East, Time Zone used is C (3hrs later than Greenwich, 5hrs earlier than Singapore), with temperature averaging 15deg Celsius, and humidity averaging 50%. It's dry, and cold, and windy. Things there are also above my budget, mostly.

I was in Bahrain three weeks ago, for four days, on a working trip, but i managed to get some sightseeing done. There wasn't really much to see, so most of the photos taken were of me and my colleagues having fun (eating Ice Cream, mostly, and having a few drinks together).

Finally managed to upload all the photos from the Bahrain stopover... so go have a look!

Stay tuned for more updates!
